I have a simple home LAN. I'm behind router which is connected to cable
internet. IP addresses are assigned using DHCP. However, it is not that
important I think.
When the network is down because of my ISP fault, logging to GNOME or launching
new applications doesn't work.
If I try to log in when the Internet is unreachable, loading GNOME takes ages.
After minute or two, the desktop is completely unusable. I am not able to
display any settings applet or launch any application like Firefox browser or
Openoffice.org Writer.
