Thanks for your report and helping make Ubuntu better. Could you attach the output of: "devkit-power --dump" with the battery charging and with the battery full (to compare). GPM now gets info from devicekit-power instead of HAL, so we should just make sure that those two interfaces are on the same page.
Also, see: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingGNOMEPowerManager specifically following the directions in the sections "Getting DBUS info". This will help us check to see if GPM is seeing that the battery state has changed or not. If the battery state change is not announced over the dbus, GPM would not know to change the icon. In that case, devicekit-power is not reading the battery properly. Also, is this a regression or is this bug new with the newest version of GPM (2.27.5+)? ** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- notification area icons do not work correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408761 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
