Hi Micah, Please find attached my system hw profile. Drivers installed: X.Org X server - Intel i8xx, i9xx ver. 2:2.4.1-1ubuntu10.4 and X.Org X server - i740 ver. 1:1.2.0-1build2 display drivers. I have 20 extensions installed, yet only the Flash Player plugin (Adobe) is responsible for high CPU consumption. I tested this by a series of 'enable-disable' of all extensions, and pinned-down the problem to the Adobe Flash Player plugin. This I observed on other GNU/Linux systems as well. Yet on other systems in which I have Swfdec or Gnash as replacements, Firefox performs smoothly. All my hardware is fully supported by Ubuntu, and drivers are updated and functioning perfectly with all other graphical applications.
