Hi Chris, Sorry for the delay and thanks for getting back to me.
I'm not talking about the ToC but the Joint Table contents. I've included the screen shot of the OOo3 doc and the StarOffice doc. I also suspected that it was starOffice at fault until I used a windows version of OOo3 to save the doc and then used StarOffice again to test. The windows version of OO produced a doc that was readable in starOffice. Leaving me to think the fault is with the linux version of OO.
