Tony, That's interesting, I've never thought about that before. Unfortunately as this is a larger change, there is probably not a way that the fix would be backported to the Jaunty release -- and in the Karmic release the FUSA codebase is being lost. In the Karmic release GDM will be doing all of the user parsing, and other applications will be able to get that information from GDM. If you could possibly get a Live CD and try the new GDM in Karmic to see if it exhibits the same behavior that would be great. If so, please file a bug against it so that we can ensure it is fixed in Karmic.
