** Description changed: When using the Switch Desktop Mode to swap from netbook to classic upon reboot GNOME desktop setting are not retained, in that all you end up with (classic) is just the desktop background image without the GNOME panels on the top & bottom of screen! essentially leaving you with a Xsession you can only use the right click options! Further to this if you insert a USB pen-drive that spawns nautilus you can then navigate to the Switch Desktop Mode binary to then reselect the netbook selection only again on reboot for the GNOME panel missing!
