Hello everybody! Good news:
Using the kernel option i8042.reset the error does not occur (at least for me)!!! For those who do not know how to use kernel options: In '/boot/grub/menu.lst' add 'i8042.reset=1' to the first line looking similar to this kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.**-**-generic root=UUID=*********-*****-https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/285908/+attachment/572426****-*****-************* ro quiet splash The line should look like this afterwards kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.**-**-generic root=UUID=*********-*****-****-*****-************* ro i8042.reset=1 quiet splash I checked that this is working as described in comment 12. Please try if this works for you, too. -- extended ascii characters not displayed on cold boots https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/285908 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
