Just adding some extra info. This bug still affects me, but I'm using Intrepid at the moment which works well (actually, right now I'm just trying out Jaunty to test a few things, but I mostly use Intrepid). I'm hoping to be able to switch to Jaunty.
Anyway: - Stand-by works: the computer appears to suspend and the power LED pulsates while in sleep. Also, it's significantly faster than Intrepid. - Resuming, however does not. The screen backlight does not switch on, there is no mouse cursor. The keyboard caps light doesn't function. The wifi light does switch on and the hard drive seems to spin up and read a few things. - Importantly, switch user (to guest, did not try others) does not work and also experiences the same problem! This triggers Xorg to reset. I suspect therefore, that Xorg seems to not like reloading and crashes. - Perhaps it's to do with wifi? The last entries in kern.log seem significant, see attachment. ** Attachment added: "wifi.kern.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30019617/wifi.kern.log -- [Dell Inc.
