Public bug reported:
I am running Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid and I own an iPod. I tired to load
wine, the windows emulator, but the computer could not read the
repositories. I then tried to load banshee, a program that mimmics
iTunes. Again, the computer could not read the repositories. The
computer always tells me that
The repository may no longer be available or could not be contacted
because of network problems. If available an older version of the failed
index will be used. Otherwise the repository will be ignored. Check your
network connection and ensure the repository address in the preferences
is correct.
Is there a way to fix this, or do I need to upgrade to Ubuntu Jaunty?
If so, will I need to move my files onto a separate hard drive during
the upgrade? I am looking for any assistance available.
