Can you please provide some information on your setup? How do you have your
speakers connected to your sound card? When did the 5.1 speaker setup work
correctly, and what have you done with your system since that may have
contributed to them not working properly now?

If your speakers are conected via 3 analog cables, have you checked in the
volume control to be sure that front, centre, rear, and LFE are all unmuted and
turned up? If your speakers are connected via a digital cable such as optical
or coax, have you checked that the IEC958 control in the mixer is
unmuted/turned on?
