Binary package hint: openoffice.org
I opened a Word 2007 document in Word 2007 and observed the proper
formatting and location of text. When I opened it in OpenOffice 3.0.1
build 9379, what appears to be Figure 1 from several pages into the
document now appear on the first page, and the text is shifted to the
left and mostly off the page - outside the white space. Only small
portions of the text are visible, but the text corresponds to that in
the figure, and the figure is gone from the proper page. Equations are
not visible and equation numbering format is incorrect - centered rather
than tabbed to the right margin. Double-clicking on the second equation
makes it visible in the editor, but when the editor is closed it is no
longer visible. Double-clicking on the first equation brings an empty
window (created with Equation 3.0 in Word).
