Public bug reported: Binary package hint: codeblocks
When I install Code::Blocks from the Ubuntu Jaunty repository and create a wxWidgets project, no form editor appears, and there's no obvious way to bring one up. In the wxWidgets project wizard, it lets you select between wxSmith and wxFormBuilder (neither of these are installed with codeblocks 8.02-0ubuntu3 by default). Selecting either option and proceeding results in no obvious form builder or form building menus. Installing codelite-plugins-wxformbuilder and wxformbuilder seem to have little effect on Code::Blocks. Installing codeblocks-contrib results in visible form editing capabilities in a new wxWidgets project using wxSmith. Thus, the problem is that it's not easy to get form editing to come up in Code::Blocks for a wxWidgets project like it should be. Compare the tutorial at http://wiki.codeblocks.org/index.php?title=WxSmith_tutorial:_Hello_world with installing the codeblocks package without any plugins and creating a new wxWidgets project with it. If form editing requires extra packages, Code::Blocks should at least warn the user that these packages are missing so he/she can install them. ** Affects: codeblocks (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Form editor does not appear in Code::Blocks https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411258 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
