The functionality of apport-collect is, um, er, ragged. After authorizing it to run, I went off to have dinner. An hour or so later, it appeared to be still running in the "konsole" terminal. I pressed Ctrl-C and got two lines back that a report was being submitted to launchpad.net. However, I am unable to confirm from a search on this web site that the report was actually received.
