Could you capture your full dmesg output when running the 2.6.28-14
kernel which introduced this regression? Also, it would be best to wait
and capture the dmesg output after you've inserted the network cable
just in case there are any errors logged.
dmesg > dmesg.log
Also, can you capture and attach a more verbose lspci output? This can
be captured by running the following:
sudo lspci -vnvn > lspci-vnvn.log
