z3non: it seems your problem is caused by the atl1 module for your
gigabit network card.  Can you test unloading that module?

Also is possible for you to test with Karmic Alpha 3 or even better with
latest mainline kernel?

with karmic or mainline kernel please provide the apport-collect -p
linux 311998 output.
