I was using MS Windows XP Home as the host and was tring to load Ubuntu 9.04 as the guest. I was using VirtualBox 3.0.2. The X server crashed while trying to install Ubuntu, it did subsequently install but the screen resolution was wrong and could not be reset. Ubuntu also did not seem to want to recognise my printer (Canon iP1700). So I gave up and dual-booted Ubuntu 8.04 LTS with the existing Windows XP Home. This is working very satisfactorily and I am learning a lot about Ubuntu (which was the original object of the exercise). Sorry to be the source of problems, it was probably my fault anyway. What host/guest OS are you running? What version of VirtualBox/VirtualBox Guest Additions are you using? When does the X sever crash (only once/sporadical/frequently/at a specific point)? Please also attach the VirtualBox log file (Main Window: Machine -> Show Log). -- Xorg crashed with SIGSEGV in DamageUnregister() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/362127 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of a duplicate bug.
