Nevermind. I figured out that I messed up with the hal.dll file in Windows. I downloaded another one to replace the original and that's what was messing up the startup process. Good thing I was clever enough to save the original hal.dll in case anything went wrong so I logged in Ubuntu to replace the newer one with the original dll file. That solved my problem.
