I've discovered today: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/384579
and somebody there proposed this: echo "blacklist floppy" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist-floppy.conf && sudo rmmod floppy && sudo update-initramfs -u I had to run that twice, first run resulted in an error message "floppy in use", after the second run and the restart the booting was fast as pre-karmic. So it's certain now that a floppy handling made a delay. I think that this bug can be considered a duplicate of 384579. -- Karmic slow boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/405270 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
