Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: sane-utils

I used the following scanimage command:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ scanimage -L
insmod: can't read
'/lib/modules/2.6.17-10-generic/kernel/drivers/mfpportctrl/mfpport.ko': No such
file or directory
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$

Then I got a message about the scanimage crash. Xsane doesn't work. I
can scan with the samsung "unified driver configurator. Printing
function is o.k.

First of all i tryed to start XSane. I was asked form the system whether
i really want to intend to continue as root. I uninstalled xsane and and
install xsane a second time. xsane didn't start any more.

The printer i use is samsung scx-4216f on lp:0 (parallel port), Ubuntu-
version: 6.10 Edgy Eft

My aim is to use the samsung printer/scanner and to use xsane.
