Yeah, I finally figured it out while getting other stuff updated on an individual basis rather than all at once, it kind of resolved itself. I eventually determined that the Ubuntu installation had only given me 2.3 Gigs for that drive space, leaving 60 gigs for an earlier version of linux that no longer needed it. Fortunately I was able to use Gparted on the Live USB to move 10 gigs over to where it was actually needed, and everything cleared through.
I'm still thinking that maybe I should be moving more over, but will probably discuss on the forums when I got more time. But thanks for the response.
