This behavior is still present in Release 4.3.0 of KDE. Kickoff ignores the font selected using SystemSettings | Appearance | Fonts.
Kickoff also ignores, as Michael pointed out, the fact that anti-aliased fonts are enabled and the sub-pixel rendering is selected. In my case, I have selected Liberation fonts with anti-aliasing enabled and sub-pixel rendering, but the default DejaVu Sans font without anti- aliasing/sub-pixel rendering is used in Kickoff. This is the same behavior I reported in a bug related to the Lancelot plasmoid: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kdeplasma-addons/+bug/368660 (A screen shot of the KDE 4.3.0 release Kickoff depicting this behavior is attached). ** Attachment added: "Kickoff ignores the font selected using SystemSettings" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/30261103/kickoff_no_anti_alias_fonts.png -- Since the update to KDE 4.3 beta on Karmic, sub-pixel font rendering is not used for the icon titles in Kickoff https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377552 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
