** Description changed: The problem is right above, in the Summary. It seems like the hardware doesn't recognize the sound card (s). My laptop is Medion Akoya P7610 and had, previously, Windows Vista installed. Now I use only U810. + + Additional informations: + + I installed U810 as upgrade, from U8042 L.T.S. I have installed + Medibuntu's repositories earlier (I am not operating from U.S.A.), + ubuntu extra and restricted repositories. + + Whilst working with U8042 L.T.S. I could receive sound but only via headphone. The audio device is + set to 100% and the only choice appearing on the screen is "Device: Playback: simultaneous output + (PulseAudio Mixer)", with the unique option of 'Master'. + + One thing more (I don't know 'how' and 'if' it can be useful): I do my upgrades, from system to + system, using a home-made distro and, so far, an 'alternate' version of it. + + I have tried, also, to resolve the problem using the URL. 'https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SoundTroubleshooting', but, no results... (by the way: the following command from the terminal + is not clear: ls -lt /lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/sound/; I mean: `uname -r` as is standing here + or, does it mean something else?! + + I haven't read the Debugging Procedures, yet...
