When I rebooted i got a menu that said it was in low graphics mode, with 4 options, some had to do with troubleshooting, manually edit configuration, I don't remember the rest. But I can edit xorg.config file to call the nvidia driver and the menu comes back. You can view the log file from the menu but it does not tell me were the log is.
