Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: pidgin
Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10
Pidgin: 1:2.5.8-1ubuntu2
PulseAudio: 1:0.9.16~test4-0ubuntu4
When using Pidgin, when the program encounters an action where it should
produce a sound effect, instead of playing the effect, it sets the
volume to 0. If another application using sound is open, pidgin sound
works as expected.
This may be related to the pidgin sound memory leak bug, or it could be
something else entirely. The 'Virtual memory' listing in System Monitor
only increases by ~80MB (from 755MB)
** Affects: pidgin (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
