Hi indigo42, Indeed it would be great to nail down a reproducible set of steps. Looking at the linux-ext4 mailing list, it seems others have seen this same sort of issue and resolved it with an fsck:
http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.file- systems.ext4/12054/match=ext4+fs+group+descriptors+corrupted I do also notice you mention running Jaunty which uses a 2.6.28 based kernel. I'd suggest maybe trying the latest 2.6.31 based kernel for Karmic, it's had quite a few ext4 related patches applied. ISO CD images of the latest Karmic Alpha4 are available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/karmic/ . It would be good to know if this reappears with the newer kernel. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- EXT4-fs Group Descriptors Corrupted after reboot. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411949 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
