It seems like this is what happens: After resuming from standby/hibernate, the password dialog appears, but the keyboard doesn't work until after a few seconds -- this is the case every time. If I type on the keyboard, nothing happens until after it actually starts to respond (usually takes a few seconds).
Now, if I type a lot on the keyboard before it starts to respond to the keystrokes, that's when it can sometimes hang completely and even stop moving the mouse cursor.
