Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. It seems that you might
have some broken packages that prevents you from installing new
applications. There are different ways to try to solve it.
1. Open: System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager.
2. In the bottom left part of the Synaptic window, select Status
3. On the left side of the Synaptic window you should have a list: All,
Installed, Not installed, Broken.
4. Select Broken.
5. You should now see which package has broken dependencies. Select it and with
the right click select remove.
6. Set apply changes.
7. Once done, try again to install the initial package you wanted to install.
I am going to set the status of this bug as invalid, as, given the
information provided, this corresponds to a normal behavior of Ubuntu.
If, however, after trying to fix the broken dependencies you still have
the same problem, please feel free to reopen this bug. Make sure to add
the name of the package you want to install, and all those that appear
to be broken.
