I've just purchased an Acer Extensa 5630EZ and I'm trying to sort out
minor probs with the multimedia and special keys.
On my laptop when I turned the bluetooth switch from on-to-off the
screen brightness would also increase. Also when I pressed the lock
screen button the brightness would increase and the screen would not
lock.
Solved both of this problems by modifying the file
"/usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/30-keymap-acer.fdi"
I added the following to the prefix="Extensa" subsection of the "Acer"
section:
<!-- Extensa 5630EZ -->
<match
key="/org/freedesktop/Hal/devices/computer:system.hardware.product"
contains_outof="5630">
<remove key="input.keymap.data"
type="strlist">e06e:brightnessup</remove> <!-- Brightness Up conflicts with
Windows Lock Function -->
<append key="input.keymap.data"
type="strlist">e06e:screenlock</append> <!-- Windows Lock function -->
<remove key="input.keymap.data"
type="strlist">e059:brightnessup</remove> <!-- Brightness Up conflicts with
Bluetooth on-to-off -->
</match>
You could try something similar for the identifiers of your particular
laptop. Hope this helps.
