Public bug reported:

When I transmit data to an USB stick or USB harddrive the data is wriiten only
when I unmount it.
This is IMHO not very good, the data should be written instantly to the stick,
like e.g. Windows does it. Not only is this good when the user unplugs the
stick without unmounting, but also to see how long the writing will need (the
writing speed seems to be enormously fast, but when I unmount the stick or
shutdown the system I've to wait very long).

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
