Hi,

I'm having Acer Aspire 5738G with Ubuntu 9.04.
Output on lspci is the same as reported in original bug text:
Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev
03)

The same problem on my side as reported - no sound on headphones plugged
in from them, only built in speakers work all the time.

I've found solution here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7785954

it's in adding to:
/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base
following line:
options snd-hda-intel model=auto

this solves the problem.

However my wish is that Ubuntu would run on any HW out of the box without any
command line hacks.
Therefor if possible, please do this fix automatically somehow.

thanks
hope it helps
