Public bug reported: madfuload is a firmware uploading tool necessary for certain external sound cards used by e.g. musicians. It does not work properly: while it can be manually invoked, the udev script does nothing.
Madfuload expects command lines such as: madfuload -v -l -3 -f /usr/share/usb/maudio/ma004103.bin -D /dev/bus/usb/002/002 (and if does this manually, the firmware gets uploaded). It is invoked from: /lib/udev/rules.d/42-madfuload.rules It's probably just a matter of fixing the udev rules. $ apt-cache policy madfuload madfuload: Installed: 1.2-2ubuntu2 Candidate: 1.2-2ubuntu2 Version table: *** 1.2-2ubuntu2 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/multiverse Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 ** Affects: madfuload (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- madfuload is not called from udev https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/415785 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
