I haven't been able to get a logfile out yet. I can confirm it "will not work correctly": I'm seeing some old video memory contents with some corruption drawn on top of it, and then the system locks. Not just X: magic sysrq and ctrl+alt+del do not work, and my ssh connection dies. Neither Xorg.0.log nor Xorg.0.log.old looks like a failed log post- reboot. I'll dig more later: it's possible there is a failed log but it's getting overwritten. Hints on making just X lock appreciated (if my ssh connection stays up that obviously makes gathering information easier).
