If I comment-out the "rm -f .X*-lock" line, then the script will stop on
this statement for a long time:
find . -depth -xdev $TEXPR $EXCEPT ! -type d \
-print0 | xargs -0r rm -f -- \
|| { report_err ; return 1 ; }
This also contains an "rm" command so it is possible that the first "rm"
command on the /tmp filesystem takes a very long time.
