Sorry but this bug (although might look so) does not have so much with
translations and does not look to be a duplicate of. I stress that it
occurs only for Ubuntu 9.04 INSTALLED WITHIN WINDOWS (using wubi or how
it is called). Simply, the wubi installer ignores the language I opt. So
it more looks to be a bug in WUBI. (Apologise that I did not explain it
clearly in my original report.)
I opted for English at the beginning of the installation procedure. What
I finally got was a mixture of English, Italian and Slovak!
I stress again: I opted English, i.e. I did not require any
translations. However the wubi installer somehow detected the
geolocation settings in my Czech Windows XP installation
(geolocation=Slovakia) and decided to install some pieces of Ubuntu in
the language corresponding to this geolocation (although I did not ask
for it).
No such a nasty mixture of locale settings occurs when I install the
same version ubuntu (English) on a dedicated partition (i.e. not within
Windows). I suggest that you may look at my original report again.
Thanks.
