I have exactly the same issues under Jaunty x86_64. Skype and Flashplayer still seem to fight each other... I tried with skype_static OSS, but whenever flash runs a movie (e.g. under youtube) no sound for skype is available any more. When I use skype non static and choose pulse-audio as oudi sources in skype preferences the system is quite unstable see -> https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/417659
