Hardware PPC G4 1.25GHz with 1.75G memory.
Using xubuntu feisty herd 3 candidate released 01/02/07
xfburn version 0.2.0-0ubuntu2

Using

Applications > Accessories > Xfburn

Or better in a terminal (to see output messages)

$ xfburn

Click button 'Burn CD Image'
Image to burn (select ISO)
Burning device (use default)
Speed (select x4 and others)
Write Mode (default)
Options (use defaults)
  Eject disk (enabled)
  BurnFree (enabled)
Click button 'BurnImage'

The following messages are output to the terminal

** Message: Using Thunar-VFS 0.3.3
** Message: looking for device [1]
** Message: device [1] found : TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R1312 (/dev/hde)
** Message: device [1] capabilities : CD-R CD-RW
** Message: looking for device [2]
** Message: Requested device index [2] is out of bounds. All devices have been 
read.

(xfburn:4617): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_combo_box_get_active_text: assertion
`GTK_IS_COMBO_BOX (combo_box)' failed

Also, tried burning with an external firewire drive, but get the same problem.
For me, this same problem occurs on edgy, so it's possibly hardware specific.
