There is not enough information to troubleshoot this bug as written...
if you're still able to reproduce this bug under Karmic, could you
attach some additional data? For Display problems it's typical to look
at Xorg.0.log and lspci -vvnn. For crashes you generally need to get a
backtrace from whatever crashed (kernel, xorg, etc.)...
