I wouldn't think of it as an override, but more as an explicit mentioning of the effect of disabling all launchers. Think of the user who has just disabled all launchers - hopefully he will notice that the "hide icon" checkbox was just checked, and he will realize (1) that the icon will be hidden and (2) why. He also has the option to make sure the icon isn't hidden.
