Dear Kamus,

I could not locate IEC958 channel in alsamixer to increase the volume.

I could mute the IEC958, please see the attchment. But there are no channels
to adjust volume as we do for master etc.

Coming to system>Preferences>sound to change from Autodetect to Alsa/Oss
output.
I donot find this option the following are the options available when I
click on autodetect balloon ....

1. Autodetect
2. HDA Intel INTEL HDMI (ALSA)
3. HDA Intel STAC92xx Analog (ALSA)
4. HDA Intel STAC92xx Analog (OSS)
5. HDA Intel STAC92xx Analog (OSS) - again
6. ALSA - Advanced Linux Sound Architecture
7. OSS - Open Sound System
8. Pulse Audio Sound Server

I tried all the combinations, may be missed the right combination.
When I tried with 3, 4, 5, and 7 there is an error see the attachment

Please let me know, how to set all the parameters together.
I am not good in linux, but I like UBUNTU ... after installing ubuntu, I
donot open my vista again.

the following parameters changed when I completed the recommended updated
UBUNTU system starting SCREEN changed KUBUNTU
and login screen changed to EDBUNTU

Thank you for your patient suggestions.

Regards
sekhar
