To avoid regressions with the current driver I added the latest standalone
driver as igb-next to LUM. This module has the PCI IDs supported by the normal
igb driver stripped away and the modules should be able to coexist with the
present module. I placed test packages to
http://people.canonical.com/~smb/bug352440/.
Please try one of those and report back if this works or not.
