Well, we can use a different image for the different xsplash stages if
we want to.  For example, look at

/etc/gdm/Init/Default  (before gdm greeter shows)

and

/etc/gdm/PreSession/Default  (after gdm greeter, going into user
session)


We can set a different background image on the command line here, depending on 
what the design team comes up with.  But we probably don't want to query the 
gconf server to find out what backgrounds gdm or user have set.
