Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: rdesktop
I have no trouble connecting to RDP from my 9.04 box to Windows Server
2008 and Windows 2000 Server but connections to Windows 2003 servers
typically don't work. The symptoms are as follows:
Once in a while I get a very slow loading session where the login prompt
never finally gets rendered on the screen and then the client
disconnects with an error of "connection reset by peer".
When I do get connected, most of the time I see the desktop but after a
few clicks, especially when opening new windows or scrolling, the
connection pauses (I've seen this using eyeballs and tcpdump) and
finally I get the same "connection reset by peer" message.
I never have this issue when using a WIndows XP client to RDP into a
Windows Server. I never get this from my Ubuntu 9.04 client when
connecting to a Windows Server 2008 host. These results are consistent
no matter what subnet I'm on.
This has only happened after upgrading from 8.10 to 9.04. I've tried
tsclient, grdesktop and Gnome-RDP and all exhibit the same behavior.
