Not the OP, but it still happens on my machine with 2.6.24-24, dual AMD
Athlon(tm) MP 2800+, 1GB memory.  Have to drop back to the 2.6.15-54-k7
kernel to get it to boot, or I get long pause and "Unable to find
/dev/md0".

      51199040 blocks [2/2] [UU]
