Is this still an issue for you?  The reason I ask is I see you are
actually running the 2.6.28-15.48 kernel which claimed to have failed to
install here.  There is however a newer 2.6.28-15.49 kernel available.
Can you try updating to that?  I do see the following in your
DpkgTerminalLog file:

Preparing to replace linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic 2.6.28-15.48 (using 
.../linux-image-2.6.28-15-generic_2.6.28-15.49_i386.deb) ...
