I've now tried to connect a USB audio interface to my laptop, and it gets
perfectly recognised.
Therefore the issue must be with the internal audio device (which used to work
fine up to pulseaudio 1:0.9.16~test5).

Regarding my internal audio device, "cat /proc/asound/cards" returns the
following message:

 0 [Intel ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel
HDA Intel at 0xf8400000 irq 22

What can I do to get my internal audio device recognised?

Thanks
