Here is the current issue:

In the directory /usr/share/myspell/dicts there is the situation that
when a language is installed, (for example English [United Kingdom]) the
file 'en_GB.dic' is created, but also a symlink to it is created called
'en-GB.dic'

The trouble is OpenOffice looks for 'en_GB.dic' and firefox looks for
'en-GB.dic' so we can't just delete either one. The reason firefox adds
these duplicate entries is because of these symlinks.

I think the trouble is that Firefox is look for the entries with a
hyphen between them, which is not the standard naming of these myspell
dictionary files so firefox shall have to be patched.
