Public bug reported:

Rather odd bug that I don't know where to file, don't even know if it's a
problem with software or the hardware.
After enabling virtualization in the BIOS of a Dell D820 (Intel) some software
hangs after working perfectly before. Not exactly high on the supported
software list but hopefully someone can shed some light on this.

The list includes:
* mplayer hanging after a few seconds of playback
  MPlayer 2:0.99+1.0pre8-0ubuntu8 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
Opening video decoder: [ffmpeg] FFmpeg's libavcodec codec family
Selected video codec: [ffodivx] vfm: ffmpeg (FFmpeg MPEG-4)

* the kvm version of qemu hanging
  kvm-12 from http://kvm.qumranet.com/kvmwiki
only when the kvm and kvm_intel modules are loaded
  when using -no-kvm and not

* NVIDIA drivers not loading
requiring them to be recompiled before working (once off, once recompiled it
required no more work)
not sure how it would effect the restricted modules package normally used for
the nvidia drivers.

I haven't found anything else that is behaving differently yet. I have
no idea what information to give as mplayer and qemu just hangs so if
there is something that might help, I'm more than willing to provide.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
