** Attachment added: "term.log"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31242773/term.log

** Description changed:

After a regular update on Hardy, the desktop fails to initialitze
properly with the message "Cannot show <<x-nautilus-desktop:///>>."
(translated from catalan). I attach a capture of the message.

Also the desktop shows directly the contents of the user directory.

  I use hardy:
  jo...@ximenea:~$ lsb_release -rd
  Description: Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS
  Release: 8.04

- I also attach the /var/log/apt/term.log corresponding to the last
- update. Since the update is only of mono libraries and libc6 I suspect
- that this last might be the cause, but I'd better check here before...
- No more updates have been performed on the computer.
+ I also attach the /var/log/apt/term.log corresponding to the last update

+ performed on the computer.

  Thanks,
  Jordi.
