Public bug reported:

This exists in all Ubuntu versions from breezy to feisty and also in debian
etch (testing). I saw it on several computers, that have not much in common
except the internet provider (chello austria).
Although the network card is recognized correctly and the network is reported
as active, dhcp fails (apparently with a timeout).
Oddly enough, the application called "dhcpcd" can make the connection without
problem (the only problem being, that it needs to be downloaded somewhere
else), so one solution for this would be putting the .deb of dhcpcd on the cd,
so someone who uses chello can install it immediately.

** Affects: Ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
