Public bug reported:

The screen is shifted to the left so that I can only see the rightmost
3/4 of ubuntu and 1/4 of screen is black. (This happens both upon
installation and using the live cd) I have a 5 year old hp pavillion
a465w 32 bit desktop pc. This has occured on all versions of ubuntu
that I have tried including 8.10, 9.04, and 9.10 alpha 4 and alpha 5.
Both opensuse 11.1 and windows 7 fit the screen without a problem (But
they suck compared to ubuntu in all other areas). Coincidentally, I had
the same problem with my 1 year old hp laptop, but it was fixed by 9.04
after I reported the bug.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
